Dr. Kurdell Espinosa-Campbell is the newly employed Emergency Medicine Consultant at Doctors Hospital. She will be focusing on the expansion of the acute urgent care setting with a vision to transform the unit into an emergency care centre. She has demonstrated exemplary leadership in emergency medicine in Jamaica, having served as Acting Director of Emergency Medical Services prior to her departure. She was also the designated doctor assigned to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the President of Rwanda during their recent visits to Jamaica.
Dr. Espinosa-Campbell is also a citizen of the United Kingdom where she spent her formative years and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Kingston upon Thames University London. She returned to Jamaica where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and doctorate in Emergency Medicine from the University of the West Indies-Mona. She also has a pending master’s degree in Health Administration and Leadership from the University of Technology.
In addition to an active career as an Emergency Physician, Dr. Espinosa-Campbell has extensive experience in hospital leadership, having served as the Senior Medical Officer of the Port Maria Hospital and Medical Director at the Annotto Bay Hospital, St. Mary. She is no stranger to the Cayman Islands, as she has previously worked as an Emergency Physician at the Cayman Island Hospital. She also works at the Medical Associates Hospital in Jamaica where she provides consultancy to the team.
